Was die App speichert

Sicherung in Google Drive (freiwillig)

B. in „Downloads“.

Kauf „Qaza Premium“ (ohne Werbung, freiwillig)

What the app stores

Your entries (missed and made-up prayers with their dates) and your settings are stored only on your device. We run no server and receive none of this data. Your phone’s Android system backup may back them up to your Google account, as for other apps, if you have turned it on.

Backup to Google Drive (optional)

If you choose “Connect Google Drive” and agree, the app puts backup files (“qaza-backup-…csv”) into your own Google Drive when you leave the app after a change: one per day, at most five; older ones go to the Drive trash, which Google empties after 30 days. The app only gets access to files it created itself (permission “drive.file”). The files contain your entries. They are stored by Google, under Google’s privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where the entries reveal your religion, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can disconnect at any time in the settings and delete the files in Google Drive.

Local backup (optional)

With “Create local backup” the app saves your entries as a file (“qaza-backup-…csv”) wherever you choose in Android’s save dialog, for example in “Downloads”. The app sends nothing anywhere; you decide where the file stays and whom you give it to. With “Restore local backup” the app reads only the file you pick. If that replaces existing entries, the app first keeps them as a copy inside the app so you can undo it; this copy is replaced by the next restore and deleted with the app.

Ads

The app is free and shows a banner ad from Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes your IP address (and from it an approximate location), interactions with the app and the ad, diagnostic data and device identifiers such as the advertising ID to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud. We show personalised ads only with your consent, which you give or refuse in Google’s consent form at the first start and can change at any time in the settings under “Privacy options for ads”. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); for non-personalised ads, our legitimate interest in funding the free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) where no consent is required. The ads receive no information about your prayers or entries. Google may transfer data to countries outside the EU; see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Without an internet connection the app loads no ads, and every feature keeps working.

Purchase “Qaza Premium” (no ads, optional)

Google Play handles the purchase, under Google’s privacy policy. The app only asks Google Play whether the purchase belongs to your Google account. Google tells us about the order (for example its number and amount), but no payment details such as your card number. The legal basis is the performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Notice of new versions

To find out whether there is a new version of Qaza, the app asks the Play Store on your phone. Google Play processes device data and the installed version of the app for this, under Google’s privacy policy; none of it reaches us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in getting fixes to you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Feedback

If you send feedback, you write to us with your own mail app; we use your message only to answer it.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. As we receive none of your data, you delete your entries directly in the app (“Delete all entries”) or by uninstalling it.

Children

The app is meant for people aged 13 and over.

Changes

We update this policy when the app changes. The current version is always available here.
